A STRAW shredder has been completely destroyed after a barn fire near Bridgwater.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called at 12.30pm today (May 20) to a barn on Langport Road in Wrantage following reports of straw on fire in a barn.
Two fire engines from Taunton and two from Bridgwater were sent to the incident.
When crews arrived they confirmed there was smoke coming from the barn.
After further investigation crews confirmed the fire was coming from inside a straw shredder.
Crews extinguished the fire using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and drag forks and were assisted by the farmer using his telehandler.
The shredder was completely destroyed by fire.
