After two hours of auditions, thirteen acts were chosen as this year’s Carnival Concert front of curtain performers.

The successful acts, which include singers, dancers, comedians and musicians, are: Megan Brunton, Brandon Filler, Kevin Cripwell, Devon Salinas, Fox King Dance Academy, Christie Buttle, Catrin Hudson, Heels, Megan Boucher, Ann Philcox, Jake Godfrey, Viva La Diva and Harriet Brixey.

Malcolm Cattle, Carnival Committee President, said: “I'm sure that there's not a town in the country that has talent like Bridgwater.

"It’s so wonderful to see so many varied acts on the town hall stage. We just wish we had room for them all! After these auditions I am in no doubt that we have a great show in store; a show that, in my opinion, is second to none.”

The popular concerts, which this year run from October 1 to 13 October, have been an annual feature in Bridgwater since 1883 and are seen as a preview to the eagerly anticipated procession, which this year falls on Saturday, November 3.

Tickets for the Carnival Concerts are on sale now from the Carnival Centre in Bridgwater or online at www.bridgwatercarnival.org.uk
