THE Friends of Bridgwater Station group is holding a public meeting on Thursday, March 8 at 7pm.
The meeting will take place at the GWRSA Club on Wellington Road and speakers David Northey from Network Rail and town and district Cllr Mick Lerry will debate the topic: "What is the future of Bridgwater Rail Station and Rail Services?"
Friends of Bridgwater Station was formed in 2012, to campaign on behalf of rail users, to defend and improve a once-thriving and vital part of the rail network in the south-west.
A spokesman said: "Bridgwater has a population of some 41,000, and is still growing. We need rail facilities to meet the needs of our present community and the challenges of future developments."
