STRONG winds reaching speeds of up to 75mph will blow into Somerset this morning.
The Met Office issued a ‘yellow’ weather warning for wind for Somerset and the South West which remains in force until 9am today.
The Met Office's chief forecaster said gusts of 50-60mph are likely across the country but winds will reach speeds of up to 75mph in some areas.
In their South West summary, the Met Office said: "Very strong winds will affect parts of the UK early on Thursday.
"The strongest winds are expected to transfer eastwards across the warning area, before clearing by mid-morning.

"Road, rail and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations.
"There is also a possibility that some bridges may close.
"Power cuts may occur, and there is the potential for other services, such as mobile phone coverage, to be affected.
"Injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible, along with some damage to buildings.
"In addition, large waves are expected to affect some western coasts with beach material being."
