THE FINALISTS have been announced for this year's Turnip Prize, the Somerset-based spoof art competition which has gained a cult following across the nation.
The award, which has been running for 18 years now, sees entrants put together 'crap art' using the least amount of effort possible. Topical wordplay is also encouraged.
This year's finalists include 'Fake Nudes' by Sue D'onim, which features Barbie and Ken dolls naked and holding hands, Minnie Driver by Tiger Would, which is a small golf club, and Northern Soul by Keepthefaith, a shoe with a compass on its sole.
Others in the final include Pant & Dec, a pair of pants with a pack of playing cards on top, Pornhub - an internet hub with a chess pawn on top and Pulled Pork, which features a pig being pulled by a tractor.
The presentation for this year’s Turnip Prize will take place at 6.30pm on Tuesday, December 5 in The New Inn, Combe Batch, Wedmore, Somerset, BS28 4DU.
