JUDGES lauded the high quality of entries at the 1987 Wembon Community Association annual flower and vegetable show.
Although the number of entries fell, show secretary David Ferris thanked all who took part.
"Entrants were mostly from the Wembdon area and I would like to thank those people who have given support.
"Thanks are due in particular to the judges."
A new cup was introduced at the 1987 show, in memory of a resident who died earlier that year.
Called the Win Rossiter Cup, it was won by Stan Evis for a specimen rose.
Mr Evis also won the G and M Berry shield for his roses, while Rosalind George took the Dorothy Day memorial perpetual trophy for her handicrafts.
Jane Shobbrook won the Jim Day perpetual rose bowl in the domestic classes and Anna Treitl the Holy Well perpetual trophy in the floral art section.
