THE Bridgwater man behind an IT company which helps people combat isolation and loneliness has won a prestigious national award.
Alex Roland from Your IT Now scooped the 'Making a Difference Award' at the National Learning Disabilityies and Autism Awards.
He attended a glitzy ceremony in Birmingham hosted by Miranda and Smack The Pony actress Sally Phillips on Friday, July 14.
The award judges were looking for someone who has promoted inclusion and community cohesion through their work or role in the community.
Mr Roland said: "As an independent care 'micro-provider' it is just amazing to have the recognition that we are among the best in the UK. It is proof that the service we provide here in Somerset is really second to none."
