A 12-year-old girl from Bridgwater is making a splash in the swimming community.
Katie Derbyshire, from Chilton Trinity School, has her sights set on the Olympics after achieving 41 medals and 12 trophies in sports.
Katie has been part of multiple swimming clubs, including in Street and Bridgwater, and is now part of the Somerset County Swim Club.
Swimming is Katie's passion and her dream is to become a high-level swimmer and to take her abilities to the next stage.
She said: “I love swimming because it helps keep me healthy and every time I get in the pool I feel confident in myself.
"I also aspire to beat my personal best every time I swim.
"My mum helps to encourage me to be the best I can be.”
Headteacher, Lesley Greenway, said: "Well done to Katie. We are very proud of her and her achievements."
