A PERSON had to be cut free from a vehicle after it turned over and ended up on its roof.

Firefighters were called to the incident on the A39 at Ashcott at 5.58pm today (Saturday).

Fire crews in two engines and a rescue tender attended the scene.

Firefighters cut away parts of the car to release the casualty and worked to stabilise the vehicle.

Police and an ambulance were also in attendance.

The casualty was freed by 6.48pm and placed on a spinal board, where he was assessed by an off-duty paramedic.
