THE 2017 Bridgwater Bolt 10k is expected to be a record-breaking event this year with 700 runners signed up to take part.
More runners have signed up for the race than ever before in the event’s seven year history and entries have had to be extended this year due to demand.
The one lap course has been changed this year to accommodate feedback from some runners about uneven terrain. The course will now take in the villages of Chilton Trinity and Wembdon including a mix of urban roads and quiet country lanes.
There are just two hills for runners to tackle on the course but there are plenty of beautiful views of the Quantock Hills and Somerset Levels to inspire participants on the way round.
Runners of all abilities including walkers are welcome at the event which starts at 10am at Trinity Sports & Leisure in Bridgwater where participants will have access to the centre’s changing rooms, showers, toilets, swimming pool and cafe.
Registration is at 8.15am in the Sports Hall, with the race starting at 10am. The Junior 1k Fun Run at 10.15 am, is a great opportunity for youngsters to have a go and take home their very own race medal.
Registration for the juniors is on the day with a £2 entry fee. There will also be a bouncy castle and refreshments, and a free swim session for the families of the 10k runners.
