CHILDREN at Nether Stowey Primary School have been on a medieval adventure as part of their history lessons, heading to Dunster Castle for an insightful tour.

Oak Class teacher Catrin Davies said: "We spent last half term learning all about life in castles under the topic Knights, Dragons and Castles.

"We visited Dunster Castle and learnt how to be a knight, heard the story of The Dunster Dragon and had a castle tour."

To celebrate the children came to school dressed as dragons, princesses and knights, and had their very own banquet which included using slices of bread as plates, just as our medieval ancestors did.

Bridgwater Mercury:

"We wrote our very own banquet menus and wrote invitations to our Year 6 buddies," Mrs Davies said.

"We showcased all of our lovely work and took part in medieval dancing and learnt how to be a jester. Parents were then invited in to celebrate with us."

Nether Stowey has school spaces in reception for September, and if people are interested they should contact the school office on 01278 732508.
