BRIDGWATER'S Amber Badman, 12, has had eight inches of her hair lopped off for charity.

Amber, who had not had her hair cut for eight years before Saturday, donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust, who will use it to make real hair wigs for children suffering from hair loss.

She has also raised £236 to go toward Bridgwater majorette troupe the Chameleon Batonettes.

Amber was supported by fellow batonettes at the hair cut itself, which took place on Saturday, February 18 at the Head2Head Salon in King's Street.

Amber's mother SJ Badman said: "I'm extremely proud of her, this was completely her decision and something she wanted to do.

"The money raised will help go toward buying props and equipment to help the Batonettes keep going.

Amber said: "I am a new comer to the Chameleon Batonettes but it is a big part of my life and I want to help support the troupe."
