AN ELDERLY man has been rescued after a fire at a property in Bridgwater

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue were called at 3.08pm to reports of a fire at a property on Kendale Road in Bridgwater. 

Two fire crews from Bridgwater and one from Taunton attended the incident and confirmed there was a possibility there was someone inside the property.

Crews got to work with two breathing apparatus sets and one hose reel jet.

At 3.23pm crews are reported to have led an elderly man from a property to safety. 

Fire crews then cleared the properties of smoke using positive pressure ventilation. 

Two hose reel jets were used to put the fire out. 

The elderly man was suffering from smoke inhalation and was administered oxygen therapy by fire crews until the arrival of paramedics.
