YOU can now sign up to receive e-mail bulletins about severe weather conditions from Western Power Distribution.

Operating around the clock 365 days a year, the company wants to keep its 7.8 million customers up-to-date with timely and relevant information to help them deal with the effects of severe weather which could impact on the electricity network.

Alex Wilkes, stakeholder engagement manager for WPD said: “Once signed up to this free service, customers will receive bulletins once in advance of predicted poor weather, periodically during the incident, followed by a round-up once the event has passed.

“WPD wants to reassure customers we take all necessary steps to prepare for severe weather conditions to ensure that any customers who experience a power cut as a result will be restored as quickly and safely as possible.”
