A MYSTERIOUS fire completely destroyed a shed and all of its content in Bridgwater

Last night, a fire broke out on the Springway Lane Business Park in Westonzoyland, around 9.50pm.

The cause of the fire was investigated but a spokesman from the fire service has confirmed the cause was accidental.

Two fire appliances and a water carrier from Bridgwater were mobilised following a call from the owner, reporting a shed, containing tractors and a digger, was on fire.

Within mins of arriving crews confirmed the shed was well alight and set to work extinguishing it using two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets.

An aerial ladder platform was requested and mobilised from Taunton, to assist with fire-fighting.

The fire was under control by midnight.

The shed, which measured approx 15m x 10m was confirmed to contain two tractors, a digger and an amount of plastic moulding.

More than two hours later, crews had been continually damping down hotspots found within the corrugated metal, making up the fabric of the building.

Crews will be returning in daylight hours to carry out a re-inspection.
