A FAREWELL tea party was held for Dr David Matthews to celebrate 46 years of service as GP in Nether Stowey.
Quantock Medical centre (must be a record achievement). More than 100 patients and staff, past and present, attended the event at Quantock Medical Centre to wish Dr Matthews a long and happy retirement after such a long service to his community.
Helen Stacey from Quantock Medical Centre said he will be greatly missed.
The surgery initially started out in the little Toll House in the village, moving to behind Oakford House and eventually with a growing population, the purpose-built Medical Centre was constructed at the current site.
