MORE than 65 runners took on this year's 5k Petherton Plod on Sunday.
The sun shone on the 68 runners who ranged in age from 16 to 74.
First over the line was Eric Evans who completed the course in 18 minutes and 19 seconds.
Event organiser Jean Petrie, from Unique Fitness gym in Bridgwater said: "This was our 4th and biggest year yet, the event seems to go from strength to strength.
"Many runners were raising money for good causes through sponsorship, the weather stayed kind and it went very well.
"There was a very positive atmosphere, and it is a lovely picturesque course that taken in the village of Huntspill."
Mrs Petrie said the Petherton Plod is ideal for those people looking to gain experience in their first race event, or those more experienced runners who may want to gain a possible PB over this shorter distance.
"It's uniquely set to be ideal for runners of all abilities, and we want it to come back strong next October."
