BRIDGWATER'S library will be transformed into a "Fun Palace", offering a free day of arts, culture, and sciences for all to get involved in.

The creative day will take place on Saturday October 1, and the event is part of Fun Palaces 2016, a free nationwide celebration of community.

Fun Palaces bring people together to create and have fun through arts and sciences, and people are being encouraged to visit Bridgwater library to share their talents and discover the hidden talents in their community.

Cllr David Hall, Somerset County Council’s cabinet member responsible for Libraries, said: “As cultural venues, libraries are well placed to enable communities to interact with each other through art, culture and sciences. I am pleased to see Fun Palaces taking off in Somerset as it demonstrates what can be achieved by working in partnership with the community.”

People can come along to Bridgwater Library from 10am to 1pm and access a morning of activities including Bridge Building with EDF, Internet safety for families with O2 Guru, art and craft demonstrations and an investigation on sound and hearing.
