MEMBERS of Quayside Trampoline & Gymnastics Club were left jumping for joy when the budding trampoline and artistic gymnasts had a surprise VIP visitor.

Fresh from her return from the Olympic Games in Rio, Bryony Page gave up her time to come and inspire the next generation of talented youngsters in Somerset who have their eyes firmly set on becoming GB squad members of the future.

Bryony not only competed for the first time as an Olympian, she also jumped into the record books as the first ever British trampolinist to win an Olympic medal, which she did in style bringing home an Olympic silver.

Quayside’s senior coaching team are no strangers to success.

Head Coach, Sue Bramble trained with Great Britain’s first ever European and World champion, Paul Luxon; who the trampoline centre is named after.

Mrs Bramble is now a international performance and personal coach to both senior Laura Gallagher and junior Corey Walkes.

Laura’s trampoline highlights include leading the Great Britain team to European gold as well as securing an individual bronze in 2012.

She rose to prominence having been crowned under-19 World age group champion in 2007. In 2013 she was part of the World Championship gold medal winning team alongside her team mate, Bryony.

At just 15, Corey is in his fourth year of selection for the Junior Great Britain team and has competed internationally gaining two junior World silver medals and holds both the 2014 & 2015 British Championship titles for his age group.

Everyone at Quayside had a fantastic time meeting Bryony and enjoyed taking part in a fact finding Q & A session which inspired even the youngest team members to aim high in their sport!
