A GROUP of elderly people enjoyed a a day trip away on a coach, courtesy of Bridgwater's Active Living Group.
The club have organised for people who may be alone or lonely to be provided with transport for a day out.
Active Living Group meets at the Victoria Centre every first and third Wednesday of the month, providing friendship, advice, activities and trips for the over 50s.
It is opening to anyone who wants to drop in and offers the opportunity to meet new friends, enjoy a drink and a chat, starting at 10am.
Councillor Ann Bown said: "As the County Councillor for Bridgwater West, we as county councillors, under the health and wellbeing scheme, were given a budget to help encourage these groups.
"They come together and enjoy each others friendships and company- we are striving to stop people being lonely.
"My thanks for to Ann Barnard and Ann Lee for organising these events."
