A MAN was rescued from a live railway line after falling 30ft down an embankment.
Two fire crews from Frome were called to Styles Hill in the town at around 5am this morning.
A fire service spokesman said the man had been taken to hospital by air ambulance.
"Two fire appliances from Frome were mobilised to assist the ambulance (service) in retrieving a male casualty who had fallen 30 feet down an embankment and on to a live railway line," he said.
"Upon arrival crews assisted the paramedics with getting the casualty on a stretcher back up the embankment via steps to the Air Ambulance."
