A GROUP of Bridgwater brownies has been given a cash boost by a local developer.
Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, who is building homes at Stockmoor Village, has donated £500 to the 7th Bridgwater St John’s Brownie group.
Brownie leader, Tamsen Wetherall, said: "We would like to thank Persimmon for giving us this donation.
"Our unit opened almost 25 years ago and our equipment is so in desperate need of updating.
"This money will help us buy things like sports equipment, storage boxes and craft items."
Nicola Hill, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, said: "We are delighted to support the 7th Bridgwater Brownies because they are a wonderful example of community spirit in action, epitomising what the Community Champions scheme is all about."
The Persimmon Community Champions scheme is a national programme where charities and groups can apply for funding up to the value of £1,000 to match money they have already raised themselves.
