THE roar of the engine, the smell of a crisp new interior and the sun reflecting off shiny bodywork... The County Gazette Taunton Motor Show is back.

Returning for 2016, the completely free event takes place at Taunton Racecourse on July 10, offering a myriad of motoring magic for visitors.

But the show is not just about cars and motorbikes – as a whole host of attractions will be on offer for all the family.

From a fun fair to food stalls, competitions to crafts, the Taunton Motor Show promises a wealth of activities – with parking and entry completely free.

And even if you do not drive, you can still get there for free, thanks to shuttle buses from Taunton bus station being provided by Berry’s Coaches.

They leave the town centre station at 10am and 11am, returning from the racecourse at 12.30pm, 1.30pm and 3pm.

County Gazette editor Paul Jones said: “We are delighted to be welcoming back the Taunton Motor Show.

“With so many top dealers across our region, it promises to be a real showcase for the industry.

“And with so much going on for all the family –- and with free entry –- it promises to be a great day out for everyone.”

However, motoring is at the heart of the event, with a host of top dealers set to showcase the best things on two and four wheels.

Among the brands on show will be Tesla, BMW, Jaguar, Mini, Subaru, Kia, Ford, Vauxhall, Hyundai, Toyota, Mazda, Skoda and Nissan, so whether you are keen to see the best family cars on the market, or dreaming of that convertible speedster, Taunton Motor Show has it all.

And don’t forget to visit the County GazetteCounty Gazette stand, where you can find out more about our 180th anniversary celebrations – and have the chance to win one of a host of top prizes in our special raffle, including produce hampers featuring the best of Somerset produce and goods and much more.

We will also be collecting for our partner charity for our 180th anniversary, St Margaret’s Hospice, which provides care for those who need it most in Taunton.

Paul added: “The motor show is an excellent part of our 180th anniversary celebrations and we are proud to be fundraising for St Margaret’s Hospice on the day.”
