A new brand series of Neighbourhood Blues, featuring the Bridgwater policing teams, is set to be back on our screens.

The series begins on May 4 at 11am on BBC One, with nine episodes that tell the story of the varied work the police do on a daily basis.

The Bridgwater neighbourhood team will feature alongside teams from Weston-Super-Mare and Bath.

Episode one shows an incident in Bridgwater where an early morning intruder gives a young family the shock of their lives as he invites himself in and interrupts their breakfast.

When PC Tex Freeman from the neighbourhood team arrives, he finds the young man had even run himself a bath but, extraordinarily, has no recollection of what he’s done.

Elsewhere in Bridgwater, a woman and her partner are accused of leaving a local restaurant without paying for their expensive meal.

She takes exception to being arrested and viciously bites two of the officers trying to restrain her.

In the second episode, PCSO Dan Wheller and Tex discover huge crop of thriving marijuana plants, with a street value of nearly £80,000.

The third show films a raid at an address in Bridgwater, where illegal drugs are believed to be a problem.

In episode five, the police make a surprise, early morning raid on a house in a quiet residential street in Bridgwater.

With the help of sniffer dog, Buddy, they uncover what they’re looking for, drugs and a dealer, who is only seventeen.

In the ninth show, a drunk pensioner causes trouble at a local pub.

After being thrown out and damaging a window, the police get called in to try and calm him down.
