I read with some amusement your article regarding the trial run for recycling every three weeks as against the two now in operation.
Somerset Waste Partnership say we should recycle more, but recycling in our area is a joke and is not carried out to its full potential.
For example why can't plastic bottle tops be recycled? There is probably more plastic in the top than the whole bottle.
We moved from East Yorkshire where they new what recycling meant. We could recycle plastic bottle tops, plastic food containers, yoghurt pots and margarine tubs (all to be washed of course). That's recycling. It seems SWP are just playing at recycling. If they want us to recycle more then they have to do their bit too.
I would love to hear the explanation from them.
