AS Somerset recovers from the battering of Storm Imogen which brought flooding, power cuts and traffic chaos to the county, forecasters are warning of possible wintry showers today.

A section of Coal Orchard car park remains cordoned off this morning after falling tiles damaged cars yesterday.

And while the Met Office says while winds may die down today, showers throughout the day could turn to sleet or snow.

A forecaster said: "Rain during the early morning, possibly falling as sleet or snow even at lower levels.

"Throughout the day there will be further showers, which will be heavy at times and perhaps wintry, especially on the higher ground."

He said temperatures would reach around 8C before strong winds return overnight.

"Tonight there will be further showers, but some clear spells too," he added.

"It will be feeling very cold, with strong winds and a risk of gales."

However, tomorrow could see better weather, he added, with some clear and sunny spells.
