A host of talented singers, dancers, comedians and a ventriloquist, compered by the popular Paul Savage, have taken over the town hall every night until October 17.

The nightly performances are a showcase of the area’s talents and as the President of this year’s carnival Rita Jones says: “It’s a show worthy of the west end.”

Bridgwater Mercury:

In part one, there’s the Julia McDonald Dance Company, vocalist Kylie Parsons, the Gremlins Carnival Club, the Renegades, the Centurions, The Griffens the Marketeers, the cavaliers and the Vagabonds amongst others.

There is more music from Nathan Ball, Bel Canto, Andrews Half Sister and from the compere Paul Savage.

Big set piece productions such as The Great Gatsby, Victorian Christmas and Just Another Day in Hollywood.

The event breaks into two weeks with different songs and dance routines from some of the groups in week two. It means you really need to go twice with the big finale on the Saturday night of week two.

Part two is again compered by Paul Savage who keeps the evening ticking over nicely.

The Sally Williams Dancers open up with Puttin’ On The Ritz with Harriet Brixley singing Tell Me It’s Not True to follow.

The Crusaders Carnival Club are next with Celebrations and then something of a showstopper in the shape of ventriloquist Kevin Cripwell.

Next up is the YMCA with Wonderland, then vocalist Amanda Nolan followed by the Wills Carnival club with Secret Creed.

Ben Filler takes to the stage after that with the Ramblers next with their Gotham’s Most Wanted production.

Viva La Diva Showgirls wow the audience next, with The British Flag Carnival Club following and their aptly named The Show Must Go On.

Finally Peter Vearncombe takes to the stage to entertain with the last set of musical numbers from the Lime Kiln Carnival Club and their musical finale.

Tickets are still available for some evenings so make sure you book your seats now.
