AS North Petherton RFC approach another rugby season the club is hoping to continue to develop and improve their mini and junior section through the tireless hard work of our volunteers.

They also hope to make use of the added interest that will be attached to the Rugby World Cup held in England this coming autumn.

Lloyd Williams, club chairman said: “We are striving to provide the best opportunities, resources and facilities for our players and our coaches to develop and enjoy their rugby.

“We try to ensure parents and spectators always feel welcomed, encouraged to volunteer and understand that enjoyment and fun are the club’s key priorities.

“We have tried hard to encourage our coaches to work hard on the development of all players and ensure all players get similar playing experiences and opportunities, which is becoming harder and harder as age group squads become bigger and bigger. This is a great problem to have, we are not perfect and still strive to improve.

“We do our best to raise money throughout the season to provide as much equipment as required, allow coaches to attend any courses they wish and most importantly to keep the cost of any clothing down to minimum. We also try to hold various social events for all age groups to ensure we feel, as much as possible, a welcoming, friendly, family club.

“We would also like to thank our continuing sponsors as without their help we would not be able to achieve a lot of things at North Petherton RFC Mini & Juniors section. “The continued support from our committee members/coaches who all give up their free time to assist, especially this year as we have assisted in the help of the development of the newly fitted kitchen at the main club house.” North Petherton RFC will be holding a mini and juniors open day on Sunday, August 30 from 10am to noon.
