THE winners of the Bridgwater Way Cycle Challenge have been awarded their prizes.
The three-week competition was held between various workplaces in Bridgwater to see which team could clock up the most cycle miles together.
The aim was to introduce as many people to cycling as possible, while helping the environment and easing congestion in the town.
A total of 31 organisations took part in teams from their workplaces, completing a combined journey of 15,980 miles.
Bridgwater College walked away with victory in the 500 plus employees category, the Environment Agency topped the 200-499 employees category and 1610 Chilton Trinity Sports and Leisure Centre took home the prize for the 50-199 employees category.
Alongside these winners, taking the prize in the 20-49 employees section were Alletsons Solicitors, Gatehouse Refresco Gerber in the 7-19 employees section and Carleton Lord Carpets in the 3-6 employees section.
As a result of the Bridgwater Way Cycle Challenge, several people involved have taken the next step and bought themselves a bike, after borrowing one to take part.
