Firefighters rescue distressed dog in Bridgwater
A SPECIALIST rescue team from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Serivce were called to reports of a distressed border collie in the canal.
The animal was located under a fishing platform near Southgate Venue, Bridgwater, following the call at 11.28am today, Sunday, May 17.
Fire crews rescued the dog with two water safety technicians and dog catching equipment.
The dog was left in the hands of the person who had phoned the fire service and the RSPCA was called to collect it.
