ALZHEIMER'S Society staff and volunteers will be out in force this month encouraging residents to ‘try something new’ during Dementia Awareness Week (May 17-23).
People will also be able to take advantage of a series of awareness-raising initiatives.
Staff will be talking about the services being offered by Alzheimer’s Society locally and for advice about the disease.
A library tour promoting the Somerset Dementia Collection of books and books on prescription for dementia will be taking place in Taunton and Minehead Libraries.
Dementia Support workers will be available to talk to people about living with dementia and what support is available in Somerset, and refreshments will be on offer.
The Alzheimer’s Society will also be hosting an information stand at Musgrove Park Hospital on May 20 and 22 between 10am and 3pm.
