TAMLYNS Auction Rooms in Bridgwater enjoyed a visit from two celebrities from the popular antiques television series Antiques Road Trip.
The BBC show was in the South West filming for the upcoming series in which Charles Hanson and Raj Bisram (famed for appearing on Channel 4’s Four Rooms) compete against each other, purchasing antiquities to sell for the most profit at auction.
They chose the Tamlyns general sale on April 14 as their final destination and, after arriving in a classic Triumph, the two experts battled it out to take the crown.
The saleroom was packed on the day with many clients and members of the public hoping to catch a glimpse of the two stars.
Some good prices were achieved on the day and among the items Charles and Raj sold was a 1920s mannequin which sold for £100, a Victorian Thomas Eddisons polyphon which sold for £70 and a small set of graduated drawers from a shop with original labels which sold for £170.
The next general sale will take place on June 2 and entries are now invited.
