BRIDGWATER Flower Show will be reverting to its traditional date this year, after organisers bowed to the wishes of exhibitors.
Last year, the show was moved from its usual date at the end of August to a new slot at the start of the month, as organisers believed temperature changes made it a more appropriate time for growers to show their wares.
But the move proved unpopular, and show bosses have now agreed to switch the date back.
"We asked for a show of hands before the trophy presentation" said Secretary Jackie Sealey, "and the majority indicated that they would prefer the end of August.
"Although we had provisionally booked both ends of August 2007 a few blocks of time had already been let out but Sedgemoor District Council were marvellous in changing everyone around to allow us to have the whole four days."
This year's show will take place on August 24 and 25 in Bridgwater Town Hall.
