AN INTERNATIONALLY renowned street artist will be helping the Hamp community to celebrate a series of new developments next month.

Artist ‘Miss Hazard’, who was voted in the category of ‘top 25 female street artists in the world’ by The Guardian newspaper, will be working with the Bridgwater Arts Centre and The Bridgwater Way to bring residents the first BACWalk.

The two-and-a-half mile stroll will take in the scenic area of Brownes Pond and around Hamp and will showcase recent street redesign work from Miss Hazard.

Cllr Harvey Siggs, Somerset County Council’s cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “This project was very much designed and led by the Hamp community and by teaming up with Bridgwater Arts Centre, “The Bridgwater Way has a great platform to showcase the community’s fantastic work.”

Kate Goodale, artistic manager at Bridgwater Arts Centre, said: “Our BACTalk series have all been about celebrating the local, so we we’re delighted to team up with The Bridgwater Way’s DIY Streets team and take our audience on a walk to show them the amazing work The Bridgwater Way project has achieved to promote healthier lifestyles and improve communities.”

The public is invited to take part in the walk from Bridgwater Arts Centre on Saturday, March 14, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
