STUDENTS across Bridgwater turned the town blue again to raise thousands of pounds for charity on ‘Blue Mo Day’.
The fundraiser aims to support Unicef's work in preventing the Ebola outbreak in West Africa from spreading with young people across the town getting involved in blue-themed activities.
‘Blue Mo Day’ was launched by students from Chilton Trinity and Robert Blake schools four years ago, and now most schools in the town have helped to raise nearly £25,000 to date.
Activities range from wearing blue uniform to cooking blue cakes, hosting non-uniform days, blue spaghetti eating contests and more.
Paul Cadmore, of Chilton Trinity, said: “Blue Mo has been an incredible project started up by students who wanted to make a difference across the world.
“For every £30 raised we can provide a UNICEF kit for a family that will not only allow them to treat relatives who are infected, but also allow them to stop the spread of infection.”
