BRIDGWATER Young Farmers Club has made a donation of £1,500 to a national children’s charity. Members of the local club organised various activities in aid of bibic.

They handed a cheque over to bibic’s fundraising officer, Mark Flower, at a presentation ceremony at the Admirals Landing pub.

Bridgwater YFC club secretary Jade Chidgey said: “Last year we chose eight different charities to fundraise for.

“bibic was one of our chosen charities and we’re thrilled to have raised such a huge amount for it.

“Members of the group took part in supermarket bag packing and a large auction and we also walked the Bridgwater Carnival collecting money.”

Somerset-based bibic helps children and young people aged from six months to 18 years old with conditions affecting their development and learning abilities to achieve their potential for a happier and more fulfilled life.

Mary Matthews, the fundraising and public relations manager at bibic, which is based in Langport, said: “We’re thrilled with the donation from the Young Farmers Club and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone for raising the money and choosing to donate it to us.

“This money will go a long way towards helping with the work we do to support children and their families.”
