PEOPLE in the Bridgwater area can win prizes and trophies – just for doing a bit of exercise.

Somerset County Council’s public health service has teamed up with the Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership, to launch the Work It! 2015 Business Activity Challenge.

Running from March 9 to 20, the Challenge is being held in three parts.

The Physical Activity Programme involves logging all the sport or physical activity you do (including walking or cycling to work).

Those signing up to The Pedometer Challenge will get a free pedometer to log the number of steps they make each day.

There will be live leaderboards on a website giving details of the top workplaces, teams and individuals.

Finally, individuals and teams can sign up for The Games, at Taunton Vale Sports Club on March 27, from 6pm-8.30pm.

There will be seven-a-side football, netball, badminton and indoor rounders, among other sports.

There will be spot prizes throughout the challenge and trophies at The Games.
