BRIDGWATER Flower Club members had a special reason to celebrate at their last meeting when they marked their diamond anniversary.
The club, formed in 1954, marked the occasion by inviting a national demonstrator to attend to give a show of their skill in flower arranging.
There was also an anniversary cake to share, and a raffle.
Every two years the club gives a donation at its Christmas meeting to a charity selected by the members and this year the club presented a cheque to St Margaret’s Hospice for £1,000.
Carol Rennison, of the club, said: “We had a great turn out and the night was a success – there were very few empty seats.
“The flower arranger did a fantastic interpretation of the theme “The Magic of Christmas” and it really was a magical evening.”
