MOTORISTS are warned of potential traffic disruption as Wessex Water starts sewerage improvement works in Bridgwater.
The work in Spaxton Road began yesterday for four weeks and for one week, two-way traffic lights will be in place while the essential work is being carried out.Most of the work will be carried out using temporary traffic lights, but from Monday Spaxton Road will be partially closed from the junction of Luxborough Road to Enmore Road between 9.30am and 2:30pm and 5pm to 11pm (including weekends) for three weeks.
Skimmerton Lane will become one way and accessible from Spaxton Road with a left turn only. Vehicles will have to turn around on the next roundabout to travel to Bridgwater.Motorists using this route are being warned they may face a slight delay to their journey and are advised to follow the diversion route along the A39, via Nether Stowey, Aley, Plainsfield, Spaxton and Four Forks.
Project manager Ashley Williamson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this work will cause and would like to thank residents and motorists in advance for their patience.”
