SEDGEMOOR District Council will be hosting a series of meetings for local communities, to provide reassurance and information on flooding as the winter approaches.

It’s all part of the 20 Year Flood Action Plan, set up after the extreme floods last winter, at the Government’s request.

Sedgemoor District Council, alongside the Environment Agency, will hold two meetings in coming weeks.

The main meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 9, at Bridgwater House in King Square, Bridgwater, starting at 6pm.

The core presentation will be from the Environment Agency as they explain their Trigger points document which highlights theoperational decisions to be taken in extraordinary flood conditions.

There will also be a short update on the wider work of the Flood Action Plan and then an opportunity for questions.

There is an opportunity to hear the presentation before the main meeting in Chedzoy Village Hall on Thursday, November 20, at 7pm.

The presentation there will be part of a wider meeting, alongside other items for discussion.

For further information on these meetings contact Sedgemoor District Council on 01278-435320.
