BRIDGWATER-BASED Higos Insurance managing director Ian Gosden is taking part in Movember this month, but going about it in a slightly different way.
While most Movember participants grow a moustache over the course of the month, Ian has raised funds by shedding his beloved beard – which has been in place since 1978.
Ian has joined the Higos staff Movember team ‘The Higos Hairy Brokers’, and will re-grow his moustache and beard throughout November, raising vital funds for Movember, which supports men’s health charities.
Through a series of fundraising activities such as cake sales, skydives, quizzes and dress down days, Higos staff have already raised over £3,000 and now they have challenged their boss to do the same.
On the day of the shave Ian Gosden said: “My top lip had not seen the light of day since the moustache first started to grow.
“This is a really big deal for me because many of my friends and family had never seen me without a beard.”
