STUDENTS from Bridgwater College will have the opportunity to head to a European ‘Mega Brainstorming’ event if they impress a panel of experts this week.
Budding entrepreneurs will be taking part in the Somerset-wide ‘Student Challenge’ this week, tackling real business issues affecting local companies.
The students will be presented with real issues that local businesses are trying to resolve and will brainstorm ideas for solutions.
The six best students from the colleges will be chosen to represent Somerset and will join other students from across Europe in a “Mega Brainstorming” event in Belgium in November.
Cllr David Hall, Somerset County Council’s Cabinet Member for Business, Inward Investment and Policy, said: “The Student Challenge events provide students in Somerset with important skills that can be applied when they enter the world of work.
“The businesses taking part will also benefit from a number of potentially creative solutions to the issues they are facing from a team of bright young minds.”
