HOSPICE Care Week takes place at the beginning of next month with the annual awareness raising week to help raise the profile of hospice care across the Bridgwater area.
To raise funds St Margaret’s Hospice is asking people to donate £1 and take on the challenge of wearing something yellow for the day between October 6 and 12.
For over 30 years St Margaret’s has been providing free, specialist care for people and their families in Somerset who are facing a life limiting illness.
The charity spends £10 million each year on providing their services with three quarters of this money of this coming from charitable donations.
St Margaret’s currently provides care for around 3,200 people a year and estimates suggest this figure will rise to 17,000 people by 2030.
