THREE men from Bridgwater are about to embark on a painstaking 100km overnight bike ride from London to Brighton to raise funds for charity.
James Self, Darren Sampson and Steve Saxton will be on their bikes for a night time Challenge Cancer Charity cycle ride this Saturday (September 20) to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support.
The trio will be setting off from the London Olympic Velodrome at 10.30pm on Saturday and cycling throughout the night. They expect to reach the finish line at Brighton Race Course at around 5am the following morning.
James Self said: “We have been training hard through all weathers since March this year and we’re actually really excited to do it.
“We chose MacMillan because all of us have had somebody in our lives who’s affected by cancer so we felt it was a good charity to support.”
“All donations will be much appreciated and will hopefully make a difference to somebody’s life.”
So far the team have raised over £1,400 for the cause but donations are still welcome and can either be made at virginmoneygiving.com/ team/SuperDaves or by calling James on 07799474759.
