ST John Ambulance volunteers will teach the skills needed to save lives in emergencies at the Woolavington Show.
The free first aid demonstrations are part of the charity’s annual Save a Life September (SALS) campaign and the first in the South West.
The first aiders will demonstrate five easy-to-follow techniques that could potentially save a life, as well as handing out information on where to go for more free first aid advice and helpful tips at the event near Bridgwater, on Saturday, August 30.
Recent research carried out by St John Ambulance, shows that 97% of people believe that learning first aid is important but only 10% of people in the UK have taken steps to learn first aid in the last three years.
Regional training manager, Jim Jones said: “By holding free first aid demonstrations across the South West, we want to reach as many people as possible, so more of us are equipped to save a life.”
The Woolavington Show is in the village hall on Saturday August 30, from midday and there’s a 25p entrance fee. St John Ambulance will hold regular, demonstrations from noon to 4pm.
