ORGANISERS of Bridgwater Flower Show say the standard of entries at this year's show was “extremely high”.
Mayor and Mayoress Steve and Stella Austen opened the show at the town hall on Friday, and presented cups and trophies to the winners on Saturday.
The event was sponsored by local businesses and received a £600 contribution from Bridgwater Town Council.
Steve Austen said: “We were pleased to be asked to both sponsor a couple of the categories and to open the flower show and present the winners with their cups and shields this year; it is a magnificent event by local residents.
“The colours of the flowers and the size and quality of the vegetables along with the photographs, paintings and arts and crafts are inspiring.
“However there is always room for a few more entrants and hopefully the show this weekend will inspire other people to have a go”.
