AND the winner is ... Treacle Well Tea Room has been declared the winner of Bridgwater’s window
dressing competition.

The event was held during Independents’ Month, with the Bridgwater Town Team and the Mercury running the competition with the theme of "A Beautiful Summer Day".

Twelve local independent businesses entered with judging by Mayor Cllr Steve
Austen.

Treacle Well wins a great business package prize of a £200 Shop Improvement Grant, commercial photo shoot by Timeless Images, a free quarter page of advertising in the Mercury, a half-day business mentoring session and chance to give pride of place to the Bridgwater Town Team Cup.

Runner-up was Christelos' Art Boutique, which is proudly displaying The McKinlays Cup, with third
prize to Wilkins Jewellers.

Cllr Austen said: “Well done to all businesses which entered and congratulations
to the winners.”

Gemma Cox of Treacle Well Tea Room said: “We participated in the summer window display as we saw the event as an opportunity to bring more shoppers into Bridgwater.

“We were surprised when we won as there were a lot of participants and some lovely displays around town. The prize will really help us build on what we are already doing at Treacle Well Tea Room.”
