  • Reports of a incident on M5 Southbound between J23 A39 (Bridgwater North) and J24 A38 (Bridgwater South).


NO further information on the incident from emergency services or local authorities.


A spokesperson from the Highways Agency has confirmed that an incident took place at around 1.41pm on the M5 Southbound between junctions 23 and 24.

The Agency arrived at the scene at around 2pm but Avon and Somerset Police had already arrived and dealt with the matter on the hard shoulder.

No lanes were closed during the incident.


LATEST reports from Avon and Somerset Police website suggests the incident has been dealt with and no further information has been given.


THE Mercury has contacted AA, RAC, Green Flag and the Highways Agency - all of which are currently checking for any information on the incident between junctions 23 and 24 on M5 Southbound. 


AVON and Somerset Police and Devon and Somerset Fire Services have confirmed that they have not been called to the scene.

We are awaiting confirmation from South West Ambulance Services.
