MIDDLEZOY’S first major arts festival was hailed a “tremendous success” after hosting sell-out performances and unique pieces of artwork for the community.
The four-day event gave people a chance to sample art workshops and also view exhibitions and open studio events from South-West artists.
Live music performances from Gabrielle Ducomble, who sang a variety of Parisian-style jazz and tango, Black and Red Cabaret, Celeste and the Rivertones all male acapella group went down a treat with visitors and gave the festival a full arts and entertainment vibe.
Eleanor Rolfe, chair of Steering Group, said: “Middlezoy Arts Festival was a tremendous success. From our opening sold out concert with the amazing Celeste to our closing sold out concert of world class jazz from Gabrielle Ducomble; the weekend was filled with many memorable moments.
“The standard of art work exhibited at our open venues was extremely high and visitor feedback has been extremely positive.
“The village has gained several lasting pieces of artwork as a legacy of the festival; a spectacular willow sculpture, a mosaic for the Heritage Centre and mural for our village hall.
“A big well done to everyone involved.”
