A SERIES of support and information meetings launches today (Wednesday) – at the request of people affected by the floods.
The Community Council for Somerset, Somerset County Council and Somerset’s district councils have responded to residents’ requests and set up meetings at North Petherton Bowling Club to offer the same range of help previously on offer at meetings held at the Canalside in Huntworth.
Today’s meeting will run from 6pm to 8pm; thereafter, meetings will run every other Wednesday.
Agencies attending include Somerset Village Agents, the Environment Agency, Somerset County Council, district councils and others on request.
The meetings are an opportunity for people to meet agencies, ask questions or leave questions to be investigated as well as an opportunity for residents to share experiences and inform agencies of issues that need to be dealt with.
Chief executive of the CCS, Katherine Armstrong said: “These meetings play a vital role to support the community."
